About Us

Our History

Our journey began with the purchase of a draft quarter horse cross from an internet auction.  The horse did not sell at her scheduled auction time.  I purchased her prior to her going to the 10 pen ( Kill Pen).  I was led to believe that she was a former Amish cart horse. The mare came to me with a slight limp.  This is where the journey really began...

I named the beautiful horse “Freya”, the Norse Goddess of love.  After several months of rest and veterinary care, poor Freya’s gate was not improving. In fact, she appeared to be getting progressively worse. After seeking a second opinion, we received the startling new diagnoses of a degenerative bone disease called Navicular syndrome.

We began a new course of treatment that included therapeutic shoeing and daily pain medication.  There are a number of ways to provide an ailing horse comfort and quality of life. Unfortunately, these methods often come at a considerable cost.

Horses like sweet, gentle Freya deserve the adequate care that allows for her to enjoy life with minimal discomfort. We established this non profit so that other amazing horses may receive the medical support they deserve.

In old Norse folklore, warriors found rest and respite in “Freya’s Field.

Goat Rescue

"Get Goat"

Our goat journey began in the beginning of October when a friend received a call about a loose goat.  The goat was in the proximity of the Horse Park of NJ.  The concern was to get the goat before the harsh weather set in.  We tried to "Get Goat" on several occasions but, "Get Goat" continued to elude us.  Finally we got " Get Goat"  in November.  We accomplished this task with the help of the maintenance  crew from the Horse Park and my great neighbors on Stage Coach Rd.  Freya's Field thanks all who helped "Get Goat".

"Get Goat"  was renamed Sigrid. She also got fully vetted which includes shots & deworming.  We would appreciate any donations.
