Navicular syndrome, often called navicular disease, is a syndrome of lameness problems in horses. It most commonly describes an inflammation or degeneration of the navicular bone and its surrounding tissues, usually on the front feet. It can lead to significant and even disabling lameness.[1]

Notice Freya's bone is shaped oddly. Not a rectangular shape as in the first diagram. Freya's bone appears more triangular shaped.
With the proper diagnoses and medical care Freya is happily doing what she loves to do. She is a pleasure horse. Freya spends most of her days grazing in her field.
